The International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do Federation (IOGKF) is one of the finest traditional karate organizations in the world today. Under the leadership of master Sensei Morio Higaonna, 10th dan, the IOGKF is committed to preserving the cultural treasure of Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do, which has been passed down to us in its original form from one generation to the next. Following the tradition and spirit of the founders and with the leadership of Sensei Higaonna the organization maintains its unique character and traditional training methods. Goju-Ryu Karate is characterized by circular movements, close range fighting techniques and the use of Okinawan supplemental training devices which develop a strong body and spirit.
IOGKF Israel is the only authorized representative of Sensei Higaonna and IOGKF in Israel. IOGKF Israel was founded in 1972 by the late Sensei Leon Pantanowitz (z”l) ,8th Dan. For more then 35 years we have been under Sensei Higaonna’s leadership and are proud to be the exclusive representatives of the IOGKF in Israel.
Since Sensei Leon’s passing in October, 2006, IOGKF Israel is operated by a Kambukai (committee) of senior instructors who were appointed by Sensei Higaonna.
